Bern, March 5, 2019 – The State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) published the National Wage Calculator on March 5, 2019. The new online tool for determining the usual salaries for the location, profession and industry in Switzerland facilitates the implementation of the flanking measures to the free movement of persons.

The National Wage Calculator, developed by SECO in close cooperation with the Association of Swiss Employment Offices (AUSL), is tailored to the needs of the enforcement bodies of the flanking measures to the free movement of persons in Switzerland and the EU. The tool provides foreign companies posting staff to Switzerland under the Free Movement Agreement with a series of indicators on the wages usually paid in our country. It is also an important working tool for the cantonal tripartite commissions, which are tasked by the legislature with monitoring the labor market and combating abuses.

The calculator increases transparency on the labor market – also for foreign posting companies – and contributes to the effective implementation of the flanking measures; it can be consulted on the dedicated portal and is complementary to the minimum wage calculator, which applies to posted workers in sectors with a generally binding collective labor agreement and can be found at
